Matthew has worked extensively within the Australian entertainment industry over the last twenty five years, establishing himself as a highly sought after industry professional.
Growing up and training in Ballarat, Victoria he has had the privilege of working on the Australian and International tours of The Boy From Oz, Fame, Shout!, We Will Rock You (Australia & Japan), Disney’s The Lion King (Australia & China), Miss Saigon (Australia), Disney’s High School Musical (Australia) and was Assistant to John Bell on OzOpera’s tour of Madame Butterfly.
Matthew was Production Stage Manager on the Australian premiere of Jerry Springer The Opera for the Sydney Opera House and Production Stage Manager on Cameron Macintosh and Disney’s smash hit, Mary Poppins in Australia and New Zealand and the 2013 revival of The Lion King.
In 2002 Matthew established Blackbird Productions with Suzie Franke and held Producer credits on the Australian tours of Robert Harling's Steel Magnolias, The Debutante Diaries and BPM beatsperminute, the Melbourne seasons of Falsettos, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, the Australasian premieres of Jonathan Larson’s Tick Tick ... Boom!, A New Brain and Dance Through Me.
Matthew was Executive Producer on the Young Australian Broadway Chorus' acclaimed production of Spring Awakening
in Melbourne. and Natalie' Gamsu's cabaret Misfit in Perth.
Matthew was the Production and Company Manager for the Australian and New Zealand tours of Yes, Prime Minister and Action to the Words' acclaimed UK production of A Clockwork Orange and in 2013 returned as Production Stage Manager for Disney's
The Lion King's revival Australian tour.
During 2014 Matthew produced multiple seasons of Thank You For Being A Friend and YouTube sensations Cole Escola and Jeffery Self live for the first time in Australia in Desperate Houseboys playing during The Sydney Mardi Gras. In March 2020 Matthew produced the Australasian premiere of The Bridges of Madison County at The Hayes Theatre, Sydney.
Matthew is the Producer of Out From Under, an Australian Entertainment Industry response to the mental health of entertainment workers. The event, held at Melbourne's Her Majesty's Theatre bought together some of the biggest names from Australian showbiz.
In 2010 Matthew co produced Holding The Man in London, marking his debut as a West End Producer. In 2016, XANADU - the musical was the first production from Matthew Management at The Hayes Theatre and Matthew continued the association with Disney as Production Company Manager on the Australian and Singapore seasons of Aladdin.
At the end of 2022, Matthew completed the Australian tour of Frozen as Production Stage Manager and also his association with tThe Walt Disney Company Australia after nearly 17 years, having worked on all Disney shows produced in Australia to this day.
Matthew was recently on tour with Cruel Intentions : The 90's musical as Company & Stage Manager for David Venn Enterprises whilst also working with Federation University Graduating class of 2023. He then went onto join the team as Production Stage Manager on the World Premiere of the Australian created new musical, Midnight.
Currently Matthew is back with David Venn Enterprises as Company & Stage Manager on the new Australian tour smash, ELVIS - A Musical Revolution
